It’s +15 out, all the windows are open, some Jamie T playing on the stereo, and I spent the day cleaning as the kittens kept me company. My room is clean and vacuumed, my laundry is done, etc. I went out in my T-shirt and cleaned out my car. All this on top of a great work-out this morning is making for a very productive day!

Cat & Mouse
Isabella came to visit me while I was doing my Unreal training. She sat on my desk and kept swatting at the mouse pointer on my screen. Cute.
Doesn’t she look cheerful?

After-Work Nap
After work I ended up passing out on the couch with the kittens. Sounds pleasant right? Wrong. I had a very vivid dream that left me in a weird mood. I dreamt Mel Gibson was on a road-trip in an old beat-up truck and he picked up David Spade who was hitch-hiking. They stopped at an old diner to eat and David Spade ended up killing everyone. They got back in the truck and were driving on an impossibly long bridge and David Spade was sitting in the back seat, and kept bursting out crying… Then suddenly I woke up on the couch with the kittens. Suddenly Bill and Tia’s 2 giant pet ostriches ran down the stairs and started attacking me. I tried to fight them off but they were incredibly strong and I realized they were probably going to kill me. Then I woke up for REAL, suddenly and in a cold-sweat. Really disturbing dream that left me feelings very out of it…

Happenings
First of all, you may have noticed my blog is no longer at dalefurutani.net. I haven’t been interested in photography as a career in some time, so it just didn’t make sense to keep paying for the domain name anymore. One downside of this is the playlist on the right doesn’t work at the moment, since the songs were all stored on that domain. I’ll migrate the mp3s to some free file-storage site some day, but until then playlist is down.
Anyway, few new things going on. First of all, I can’t remember if I wrote this, Bill and Tia bought some kittens! First they bought Isabella, a 1 year old cat, very vocal and friendly… To people. Then Tia bought 2 new kittens, maybe 2 months old. They’re super cute and love each other, but Isabella hates them, lol. It’s been entertaining watching the cat politics as they establish dominance and alliances.
I ordered some blucigs. I loved smoking, but the health risks and financial costs made it a bad idea. These get around both of those. $60 for a starter kit will get me enough to last 3 months, then 20$ will refill me for another 3 months. There’s no carcinogens in them, so no cancer! That’s a plus! No stinky smell, no second hand smoke, I can smoke indoors (including at my computer in the office), and plus the tech-geek side of me thinks they’re so neat! They light up blue instead of red when you puff! I’ve talked to a few friends who have tried them at different times, and they said they’re actually quite cool. So that should be interesting.
Back to work tomorrow, and I’ll get to file some more design bugs. I honestly can’t wait to get back to work tomorrow. What a life.

A Few Things
First of all, I created a LinkedIn account. Many people in the industry have one, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to have one, even if I’m entry level. Check my page here. If we’ve worked together and you have an account, add me as a connection!
Also, the new iPhone OS, 3.0, was announced as coming out June 17th! 9 days away. I can’t wait!
Bill and Tia got a new cat! It’s so cute, about a year old. I really missed living with an animal, so it’s great to have a cat in the house. Her name is Isabella, and I’ll be calling her Izzy, lol.
And last, but certainly not least, my Mom is coming out to visit for a few days later this month, and I’m really excited! I haven’t seen her since Christmas. I haven’t seen my Dad in almost 9 months… That sucks. If I get a fulltime position I’ll be making a lot more money, and the position starts with 3 weeks paid vacation, so I’ll be able to visit Winnipeg more often and see more of my family. Just another reason to work towards a permanent position!

Quarter Of A Century!
So I'm 25 years old... Kinda weird. My Dad was this age when I was born! Yikes.Had another great Birthday. My past few ones have been really good, and this one kept the tradition going. Marcus is back from England for a few days, and everyone was going to the King's Head Pub, which coincided with my Birthday being the next day, so it was kind of a duel event. Good times. Got free drinks all night and at midnight everyone wished me a happy Bday. It was great to see Marcus again, missed that brit.
Spent my actual Birthday with my new friend Kyra! We went to Mongo's for lunch, spent like 2 hours there, then headed back to my place so she could meet Starbuck. She loves animals and we played with the puppy for quite a while, then took her for a walk at the park. After that we went and got ice-cream and watched Run Fatboy Run with Brett, Linda and Jeff.Tomorrow I get my tattoo and I'm very excited! I'll post pix once it's done. Julie agreed to work a few hours for me so I don't have to worry about being late for work. It does suck that I have to work at all on the same day I'm getting inked, but I'll survive. It's been years since my last tattoo, so I'm quite psyched!
